Odoo Point of Sale

The Odoo Point of Sale system features a user-friendly interface designed to seamlessly integrate with various retail industries. Its high flexibility allows businesses to tailor Odoo POS to their specific requirements effortlessly.

Although Odoo POS does not inherently support a customer display with many POS hardware, this integration module addresses that limitation. The module facilitates the integration of Odoo POS (across all versions) with Customer Display POS LCDs featuring 2 lines and 20 characters. Installed on the Odoo Application Server, the module utilizes pywebdriver for hardware support, offering several advantages over alternative drivers, including a smaller footprint, a convenient test/diagnosis web interface, native support for customer display and payment terminals, and the availability of an Ubuntu package for simplified deployment.

Configuration:

1. Navigate to Point of Sale > Configuration > Point of Sale in the menu.

2.Edit the desired point of sale to enable the LCD, ensuring the IP address and port of the POSbox or pywebdriver are configured under Hardware Proxy / PosBox.

3. Activate the Customer Display option.

4.Customize the number of characters on each line of the LCD (default is 20).

5.In the Customer Display section at the end of the page, customize the Next customer message and POS closed message.

Usage:

Upon successful configuration, using Odoo POS becomes straightforward. Messages will appear on the LCD in the following scenarios:

1.When you start the POS

2.When you add or remove a product

3.Upon hitting the Payment button, the LCD displays the total amount

4.When you enter the received cash amount, the LCD shows the change to be given back

5.When you validate an order and move to the next customer

6.When you close the POS

In essence, Odoo POS transforms the selling process into a delightful experience for retailers and enhances the purchasing experience for customers. It has become an essential tool for retailers, minimizing the chances of calculation errors while generating bills and ensuring customers are accurately charged for their purchases. Real-time insights into a customer's buying behavior are also accessible for retailers using Odoo POS.
